“Complete in Christ”
“Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.” (Colossians 2:8-10 NKJ)
Jesus Christ, our ultimate goal and satisfaction. Let’s compare our aim of entering the fullness of Him with the tabernacle of Moses. Inside were three sections; first the Outer Court; then inside the first curtain was the Holy Place. Inside the second curtain was the Holy of Holies. Look with me at the light available in each section.
The light in the outer Court was natural, provided by the sun, moon and stars. In the Holy Place the only light came from the seven-branched candlestick. Once inside the Holy Place, you no longer live by your senses. You live by faith. Beyond the second curtain there was no light at all. The only reason to enter that area was to meet with God. When a man with a true heart went inside the Holy of Holies, it became gloriously illuminated with the supernatural presence of God, the Shekinah. Beyond that second veil God is our only attraction. If he does not come, we are left in total darkness. To live with God as our goal, means pursuing no other attraction. It is God Himself, God alone. The light we seek is neither natural nor artificial; it is supernatural – the presence of God Himself. (from “Declaring God’s Word”)
